Handling session sign-ups
Drs Alexia Petsalis-Diomidis and Lenia Kouneni are hosting a handling session in the University of St Andrews Special Collections as part of the panel “The Reception of Classical Material Culture: Pedagogical Approaches in UK Universities”, taking place on Friday 11 July from 12:00 to 14:00. After the papers, at 13:30 you will be taken to Martyrs Kirk for the handling session. Spaces are limited. If you wish to attend, please sign up for the session when you check in at the registration desk on Friday morning.
Wifi connection
Delegates can access wifi via two methods:
1. Eduroam
The University of St Andrews has eduroam – a global service that enables students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain wifi connectivity. This is available in most University of St Andrews buildings (including residences). If your home institution has eduroam available, please ensure this is set-up prior to your visit to St Andrews. You will be unable to set up an eduroam connection in St Andrews if you haven’t already set it up where you work or study.
2. BT OpenZone
BT Openzone is also available to guests without wifi. You will be able to connect free of charge in most University of St Andrews buildings (including residences).
Quiet Room
If during the course of the conference, you wish to withdraw to a calm space, you are welcome to make use of Room 103 in the Buchanan building. This space will be open during normal conference hours.
Luggage store
Luggage can be stored at Agnes Blackadder Hall, upon check out (by 10am). If you wish to bring your bags into town with you, you are welcome to store them in Swallowgate (School of Classics). The room set aside for this purpose will be clearly signposted.
Lunches
On Friday and Saturday, lunches will be available in both the Younger Hall and Lower College Hall. If you have informed us of any food allergies or intolerances in advance, your specially prepared meal will be available at Lower College Hall. The lunch buffet will have a selection of vegetarian options.
Social Media
Should you use social media during the conference, please use hashtag #CA2025, and copy in @StAConf25 (X/Twitter), and @sta_classics (X/Twitter, and Instagram). Please abide by the conference policies regarding use of social media and photography at the event.
